ABOUT ME
My name is Xiaoyi Ma (马潇依), and I am currently a PhD candidate at Peking University under the supervision of Professor Ruobing Dong. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Astronomy and Physics at the University of Toronto in 2021, where I conducted research on AGN light curves with Dr. Adam Hincks and on microlensing with Dr. Wei Zhu. In 2024, I earned my Master’s degree in Astronomy from the University of Victoria, with my thesis focusing on vortex-disk interactions under the guidance of Professor Ruobing Dong.
My research primarily revolves around the formation of exoplanets, specifically focusing on the vortices in protoplanetary disks. I employ both numerical simulations and observational methods in my investigations.
